Lingaa had a two weeks run in Germany (not bad for a Tamil movie) and collected around € 130,000 which makes Lingaa to the highest grossing Tamil movie of 2014. But Enthiran : The Robot (2010) still remains to be the highest grossing Tamil / South Indian movie of all-time in Germany / Deutschland.

Lingaa is an upcoming Tamil action thriller film being directed by K. S. Ravikumar, who also scripted the film in collaboration with the film's dialogue writer, Pon Kumaran. The film stars Rajinikanth plays dual role, Jagapati Babu, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. Music is being composed by A. R. Rahman while cinematography is being headed by R. Rathnavelu. Principal photography commenced on 1 May 2014 in Mysore; majority of the filming took place in Ramoji Film City. The climax portions were canned in Shimoga.
